China Import Regulations

If you want to import dogs from Japan into China, you must meet some of the following import requirements:

1. China requires that all dogs have a microchip.
2. The dog must have a rabies vaccination within a year of departure (older than 30 days at the time of travel), a second rabies vaccine, and a rabies titer test.

Japan is a rabies-free country so if you bring your dog from Japan, you are exempt from the rabies titer test requirement.

Assuming your dog has a microchip, comes from Japan, your dog may enter China through any port and should not need quarantine.

If you can bring your dog from Japan to China on your own, you don’t have to sustain an import permit. But when you transport your dog via cargo, it will require an import permit. The import permit should be obtained by someone in China.

To avoid paperwork headaches, JP-Pets will do all the paperwork for you.
